Anonimous. "A Chance to save the World." TheGuardian 27 Oct. 1962: n. pag. A Chance to
save the World. Web. 17 Oct. 2014.
This article talks about how weapons were used, how dangerous they were and how they
could have destroyed half of the world if launched, it also talks about relations at the
moment with other countries, how rules were broken by Khrushchev, how the leaders
handled the situation generally during the war and the position each country had in the
Crisis. To me this article was helpful because it made me understand the aspects of the
crisis I named before.

Blight, James J., Bruce J. Allin, and David A. Welch. "A Fascinating Inside Look At The Cuban
Missile Crisis." Chicago Tribune 8 Feb. 1994: n. pag. Print. I liked this newspaper article
because it gave me information about the countries current situation ( relations)

Castro, Fidel Alejandro. 20/20 Fidel Castro Interview- Barbara Walters. Interview by Barbara
Walters. Youtube. N.p., 11 Oct. 2002. Web. 14 Oct. 2014. This gave me important
information directly from Fidel Castro, it gave me a different perspective of Castro's and
Khrushchev's political relationship

Connery, Donald S. Escape from Oblivion: A Moscow Correspondent 's Memoir of the Cuban
Missile Crisis. N.p.: n.p., 2012. Print. This book mostly reveals Russia's social situation
during the Crisis, to me it is important to know the social situations in each country

affected ( Cuba, The USA and Russia) . Escape from Oblivion gave me this information,
it is relevant because after all, the ones affected by the Crisis were the people.

"Cuba's Missiles to Go Then Disarmament." TheGuardian [London, UK] 29 Oct. 1962: n. pag.
Print. This article was published at the end of the Cuban Missile Crisis, it tells the reader
about the removal of the weapons back to Russia and the start of the problems directly
with Castro.
"Forty Years Ago." National Arhives. N.p., n.d. Web. 27 Sept. 2014.
This source was relevant to my National History Day project because it tells specific date
information, what were the leaders "thinking and doing" at this moment of The Cold
War. It also shows actions of Cuba and the Soviet Union and how they were a reason for
Kennedy to make the decisions he made.
Kennedy, Robert F. Thirteen Days: A Memoir of the Cuban Missile Crisis. New York: W.W.
Norton, 1969. Print. This book is Robert F. Kennedy's memoir of the Cuban Missile
Crisis, he has a politician of New York and also the brother of John F Kennedy, this
book. It was extremely relevant to my project because it informed me about the Crisis
from the "inside out", it was written by someone involved in the making of the decisions
during the Cuban Missile Crisis, I understood why decisions that seemed nonsense were
made. etc.. Overall it was the clearest and most informative source I read ( form
American perspective)
MacDonald, Bruce W. "Looking Back on the Cuban Missile Crisis ,50 Years." United States
Institute of Peace. United States Institute of Peace, 19 Oct. 2012. Web. 6 Oct. 2014.
National Security Archive. N.p., 28 Oct. 1962. Web. 6 Oct. 2014.. To me it is important

to see all perspectives of the leaders during the crisis, this made Fidel Castro's position
and perspective of the crisis clear and also reading a document that he sent to Nikita
Khrushchev showed the intentions he had regarding the crisis.
National Security Archive. George Washington University, 26 Oct. 1962. Web. 6 Oct. 2014.

This document gave me a different perspective of the thinking of Fidel Castro about the incidents
occurred on October 1962, however, reading this document proved that he had the
intention of sending bombs to the United States and that the reason that Fidel Castro had
not given the order of attacking his opponent was that Cuba did not own the missiles, The
USSR did.
Valenzuela, Diego, ed. The Potential War: The Cuban Missile Crisis. Belfer Center for Science
and International Affairs, 8 May 2012. Web. 6 Oct. 2014.
<http://cubanmissilecrisisbrophy.blogspot.com/2011/05/timeline-for-cuban-missilecrisis.html>. This website helped me understanding the timeline of the Cuban Missile
Crisis.

It is a step by step and its simple to understand.

The article does not take a side so it keeps my opinion neutral about the decisions that the
three of the countries made.
Anonymous. Personal interview. N.d. This interview is relevant to my project because it will
give me information given by someone I personally know who lived and left Cuba, this
kind of information is important because it is not manipulated by the media or the

government.
