Define:
Is plant compounds contain C, H and O2, and not contain N element, has bitter taste.

Family that contain bitter principles:

1. Compositae family. E.g. Santonica flower (Artemisia cinna).
2. Rutaceae family. E.g. Lemons peels (Citrus limonis).
3. Cannabinaceae family. E.g. Hops flowers (Humulus lupulus).

Extraction

Identification

20 ml alcohol
2 gm plant

Beaker

Cool

Heat for 20 min.

Filter

Take 2ml into test tube
