Dear Parents,
In Week 14 (December 14th December 18th ) we will be working on:

English:
Plan.
Phonics: Consonant clusters
with l example: clap- clock
climb ,etc..
describing words
Writing: To write sentences
using words with clusters.

Math:
This week in math we are building on the
part/part/whole relationship. When subtracting, you
begin with a whole group. You then take away part
of that group and the answer you end up with is the
other part of the group that makes the whole.
(When adding, you begin with two parts to get the
whole.)
Adding part + part = whole
Subtraction whole part = part

while working on the homework ask them which
are the parts and which is the whole. This week we
will be introducing the idea that addition and
subtraction are inverse operations, which the
children will find challenging. The children will come
to understand that addition and subtraction are
opposites that undo each other.
e.g. Start with 7, add 3 and we get 10. Now subtract 3 from 10 and we get
back to 7.

Science:

## This week we will be working

on a scrapbook project to
wrap up all topics covered
this year.

## This week the students will work in groups. They will

create maps. Please sent the old magazine or
newspaper with different buildings to help us make
the colorful maps.

Sharing Time.
Science: Review study guide on plants, and pages 176-183 on Environments in the
textbook for unit test on Plants and Environments (Test is on Tuesday).

English:
Read The Plan from page 57 to 62 from the new decodable story
Sharing Time.

Healthy Breakfast Day

bread, croissant, jam, yoghurt, labneh, zaater, etc
