Personal Project Outline:

Your personal project includes many components and will be graded on 4 different criteria. Each Objective has a
description of what you need to do to achieve this objective followed by the project rubric.
Your project will include:
Sketch and description of project
Inspiration
Minimum of 2 journal entries 50-100 words (1 midway through, 1 final journal)
Final artwork
Response and critique of peers project

Your projects MUST be ready for the group critique on Thursday, January 22nd

Criterion A: Knowing and understanding


You will need to show inspiration which should be 1-2 pages in your sketchbook; you should list websites
that explain the art movement or process or discuss an artist that influenced your work, you can also list
websites that have tutorials about how to make something. On this page you should include images and a
short paragraph (50-100words) describing how your inspiration and work relate to each other. How did
you use this inspiration but made it your own?

Criterion B: Developing Skills


Your artwork shows effort, is well thought out, shows attention to detail and uses medium specific
techniques. Your ideas are original, shows personal perspectives and an exploration of ideas. There is a
logical development between the sketch and final product.

Criterion C: Thinking creatively


Your personal project should include planning sketches and a descriptive paragraph about your project,
ideas, purpose, and direction. You should also discuss how you will make your project, ie; techniques,
materials, etc. You must show reasonable exploration of ideas, techniques, colours, compositiion, etc.

You should have a minimum of 2 journal entries in your sketchbook which describe your process. Your journal
entries should be between 50-100 words. You should do one midway through your project and one after the project
is finished. You will be asked to respond to a peers personal project at the end of term.
