Ocean.Mostofthelandisusedforagriculturetogrowfoodandforlandscaping.Thecapitalof
Argentina,BuenosAires,isoneofthelargestpopulatedcitiesintheworld.MostArgentineslive
inurbanareas.BuenosAireshasacooloceanbreezeithelpsthecitystaycoolandsmogfree.
ArgentinaislocatedintheSouthernHemispherewherethehottestmonthisJanuaryandthe
coolestmonthisJuly.NinetytwopercentofthepopulationareRomanCatholicwhoexercisea
greatinfluenceoversocialcustomsand
celebrations.Dialectsvarybyregionbut
Spanishistheofficiallanguage.Theyalso
speakaportenodialectinfluencedby
Italians.Argentinesareproudoftheirnation
andtrytokeepitinorder.Strong
personalitiesandgoodfamilyrelationships
areveryimportanttothem.Familiestendto
besmall,especiallyinruralareabecausetheyhavesmallerhouses.
Thelifestyleofargentinesisverydifferentdependingiftheyliveinaurbanorrural
environment,.Thequalityandstyleofhousingisimpactedbythelocationandeconomicstatus

ofthefamily.Urbanareaareinbigcities.Intheurbanareas,peopleliveinsmallapartments,
consistingofoneortworooms,akitchen,livingroomandonebathroom.Inpoorerarea,
familiesmayshareapartments.Somehomesmaybewithoutelectricityandusefireplacesto
provideheatanlight.Intheruralareastherearelargerhomes.Theyhaveenormoushouses,with
multiplerooms,highceilings,largewindows,andhugeplotsofland.Someevenhavea
housekeeperandcooks.They
saveupmoneyformanyyears
inordertogetagooddecent
home.Homeownershipisvery
importanttoArgentines.
Materialsforhomesare
differentthroughoutArgentina
becauseofthenationalclimate
difference.Housesin
ArgentinareflecttheItalianandSpanishethnicbackgroundsofthepopulation.Therecanalsobe
foundsomeEuropeaninfluenceinarchitectureandlifestyle.Becausewoodisgenerally
consideredlessdurableandfearedasafirehazard,manyhomesaremadeupofstone,concrete
andbrick.Woodhomesareneverseenbecausetheyaremoreexpensivethanbrickhomes.
ThemostcharacteristicfeatureofArgentinetopographyisthehugeexpanseoflush,
wellwateredlevelplainsknownasthepampas.80%ofpeoplelivearoundthesepampas.They
havedifferenttypesofhousesintheUnitedStates,likeaRanchhouse,Cabinhouse,Southern
Colonial.Argentinaalsohasawidevarietyofhomesduetotheirdiversecollectionofstylesand

designs.TheUnitedStatestendstousewood,
brickandstuccotomakehouses,Argentinamakes
housesofcementandbrick.Duetothelackof
havingfewtrees.Housesthataremadeoutofbrick
tendtobeexpensiveintheUnitedStatesbutin
Argentinabrickandcementhousesarecheaper
thanwoodhouses.Incitiestheybuildhighriseapartmentsliketheoneswehave.Someareasin
ArgentinahavecolorfulhousesnothingliketheregularwhitehousesyouseehereintheUnited
States.Thesehomesarepainteddifferentcolorsbecausethelocalresidentsthatworkontheport
useleftoverpainttopainttheirhomes,makingthembeverytouristicandfriendly.Therooms
tendtobesmallduetothelimitamountofspace.Thereisn'tmuchfurnitureintherooms,just
thebasicfurnitureyouneed.Thisincludesabed,dresserandnightstand.
IhavesomeideasinmindfortheroomIwillbedesigningtogowiththisproject.My
roomdesignwillhavebrickwallsandhavelotsofcolorbecauseitwillinfluencestylesand
designsthatArgentinahas.ItwillbesmallbecausemostroomsinArgentinaarenottoobig,due
tothelimitedamountofspacetheyhave.
Overall,Argentinianshomestyle
varydependingontheareaandclimateof
Argentina.Argentines,likeeveryoneelse,
wanthomestobeniceandcomfortable.Its
veryimportanttoconsider
whereyouwanttoliveand

howmuchspaceyouhaveinsideandoutside.lookingatthesespecificthingswillhelpyoufinda
righthouseyoudesire.ifyouwouldliketoliveinacloseareawherethereisalotofpeople,try
livingintheurbanareas.ifyouwanttobeseparateandhavemuchmorespaceinsideand
outsidetryfindingahomeoutsideoftheurbanarea.
