Headroom and Reference Level

Page 1 of 1

If you change the headroom or system level the system always adopts the headroom
according to the following equation:
AnalogueFullScaleLevel = Systemlevel + Headroom
But note that for the AFSL only 12dB, 15dB, 18dB, 21dB and 24dB are possible.
Depending on the System and Headroom Level the System selects the according AFSL value.
Examples:
--- Current settings:
18 = 9 (Systemlevel ) + 9 (Headroom)
--- Headroom is changed
a) new Headroom 10 (Increase) : Result:
21 = 9 (Systemlevel ) + 12 (Headroom)
b) new Headroom 8 (Decrease): Result:
15 = 9 (Systemlevel ) + 6 (Headroom)
--- Systemlevel is changed
c) new Systemlevel 10 (Increase): Result:
21 = 10 (Systemlevel ) + 11 (Headroom)
d) new Systemlevel 8 (Decrease): Result:
15 = 8 (Systemlevel ) + 7 (Headroom)

Note that the max. Systemlevel is 24dB
