Course Description:

This course is an 18-week course. This course extends the topics first seen in Algebra I and provides advanced skills in
algebraic operations. Additionally, linear and quadratic functions and relations, conic sections, exponential and
logarithmic functions, graphing, and sequences and series will be explored.

Classroom Expectations/Consequences:

It is expected that students will follow all rules of Marshall County High School, as listed in the
MCHS Student Handbook.

Renaissance Rewards
If you are a Renaissance card holder, you will receive the following rewards each 9-week grading period in
my classroom. Blue Card: Omit a question on every test.; White card: Omit a question from each quiz..;
Black card: One Daily Grade pass..; Gray card: One FREE piece of candy EVERY day.. Mid-term exams, EOC
practice tests, final exams and EOC exam grades CANNOT be dropped.

Extra Assistance:
Available by appointment, dailybefore (by 7:30) or after school (until 4:00). Students may also get help
during Tiger Time on Grade Recovery days. It is the students responsibility to let me know if he/she needs
to come for extra help. It is very important that a student does not fall behind, because it is often very
difficult to catch up. Please ask for help before you get behind.

Attendance and Tardy Policy:


Each student is expected to be in class every day on time! Attendance and tardy policies are listed and
explained in the student handbook.

Make-Up Work Policy:


It is the students responsibility to gather all make-up work and complete it in a timely manner (You have 2
days for every day you were absent). Generally tests and quizzes that need to be made up will not be
done during class time. Please arrange to make up tests or quizzes before or after school or during Tiger
Time on Grade Recovery days.

Homework Policy:
Homework will be assigned on a regular basis and is to be completed by the next class day. Homework will
be checked daily for completion and effort and a homework grade will be given each week. Homework
assignments will be posted on my door each day.
Test Retakes:

Students will have the opportunity to retake any test to improve their grade. Retakes will be full test
retakes and must be completed one week from the date graded work is returned to do a retake. The

better grade will be kept. Retakes may be done before or after school or during Tiger Time on Grade
Recovery days. Test corrections may be done for half credit.

Quiz Policy:

Quizzes will be given at minimum three days a week. They will be a short four to ten question quiz that will
be graded daily Two notebook quizzes will be given each nine weeks grading period. . NO retakes or
corrections will be permitted.
