Within the observation of the Letter to Lincoln Lydia observes that Tubman was trying to
convince Lincoln to abolish slavery. In this same letter, Harriet Tubman uses hyperbole to get her
point across. For example, in the text Harriet compares slavery to a big snake that is constantly
harming people and even though it could be treated it continues to occur. Tubman shows how
dangerous slavery has become and hopes that for the love of his country, he will take her
thoughts into consideration, this particular source of information can help me display Tubmans
efforts throughout my website.

Dec.2014 <http: //www.loc.gov/pictures/item/200
This portrait is an original picture of Harriet Tubman labeled as a nurse, spy, and scout,
during 1823 to 1913. Just by the expression on her face one could tell Harriet Tubman was not a
happy woman. One could also observe the head injury that she suffered from at the age of
twelve. With how her left eye droops, you can infer that she was often abused and worked

extremely hard. This portrait will allow me to display the truth displayed in other sources I plan
to use.

This portrait is the last one taken OF Harriet Tubman before her death. It appears as if the
setting of this photograph was taken in front of her home located in Auburn. This portrait of
Harriet Tubman displays the toll all the hard work placed upon her. Though she was an old and
worn out women, she displayed her inner strength throughout her legacy. Which is what I plan
to display in my website.

Clinton, Catherine. Harriet Tubman: The Road to Freedom. Boston, Mass: Luther, Brown.2004
Print
In this book, Catherine Clinton gives an insight on Tubmans life and work. There are
several photographs and painting, giving readers a visual interpretation of her birth, struggles,
and, legacy. This book gives a good interpretation of the cruelties of a slave which is why I find
it very beneficial. The book not only helps me understand why she consumed such a passion for
securing freedom for others, but also allowed me to express more emotion throughout my
website presentation.
McKissac, Pat. A. Picture of Freedom. The Diary of Clotee, a slave girl. New York
Though this book doesnt speak for Harriet Tubman, it gives an insight from a fictional
character named Colette who goes through similar situations as Tubman. The hard work that

Clotte displays of learning to read on her own to helping others escape, gave me a bit of
inspiration. This inspiration triggered me to create another character who contributes to the
process of freeing other slaves. Colette will be an example of the influence Tubmmans
leadership had upon others.

This website is actually an informative site to help teachers instruct their teaching of
their students, however I found it to be very helpful. There was a group of questions that the
website instructs the teachers to use throughout their lessons which I plan to use myself to gain a
better understanding. I plan to use these questions yo not only get my audience insight, but allow
them to know more about her than what we are taught within our history books.

This website provides a documentary on the life as a conductor for the underground
railroad. The documentary is very detailed in describing her character and describing how brave
she is. I dont intend on using this website not to use the video, but I do however intend on using
it as a resource where my audience can gather information about Harriet. This source is typically
a source my audience can always look back on.

The website provides a timeline about all the important event that took place within
Harriets life. It gives information about Harriet life from her first work of service from six years

old to her escape from slavery. This timeline is useful because it provides information about how
e she escape. I will use this source to exemplify her many struggles throughout her life within my
website.
Weiner, Mark.Central New York.The Past standard syaracus.com 8 Dec 2014
This source gives insight on what the city of New York plans to glorify Harriet
Tubmans legacy. The plan to turn her house into a national park where individuals can come and
explore where the legendary Harriet Tubman lived. I will use this source to show that Harriet
Tubman left a long lasting legacy with plenty for people to honor. Its great to know that one
hundred years after her death, people still acknowledge the significance of Harriet Tubmans life
and work.
