Paulding County is located 30 miles due northwest
of Atlanta and is currently the 3rd fastest growing
county in Georgia with a population of 105,936.
The Paulding County School System is currently
serving over 28,000 students among its 19
elementary schools, 9 middle schools, and 5 high
schools.

School
Hiram High School was originally established in
1925. The school closed in 1968 and merged with
Paulding County High School the following year.
HHS was reestablished in 1999 at its present
location. Hiram is a four year comprehensive high
school serving 9th through 12th grades.

awarded credits earned as
described under the Academic Programs section
for courses in which the student earned a grade of
70 or higher. The GPA is calculated on a
numerical scale. Any Class of 2014 student and
thereafter must earn a minimum of 23 units for
graduation.
Testing
Georgia End of Course Tests (EOCT) are required
in seven courses: Math II, Economics, US History,
9th Literature, American Literature, Biology, and
Physical Science. For Class of 2014 students,
EOCTs count 15% of the students final grade in
these courses. For Class of 2015, 2016, and 2017
students, EOCTs count 20% of the students final
grade. All students are required to pass the Georgia
High School Graduation Test in Writing. Students
in the class of 2014 must either pass the Georgia
High School Graduation Tests in Social Studies,
Science, Mathematics, and English/ Language Arts
or pass one EOCT in the corresponding subject
area to receive a Georgia diploma and participate in
graduation ceremonies. Students in the Class of
2015, 2016, & 2017 are only required to pass the
Georgia High School Writing Test.
