Results
After reviewing the results of my interview, I was able to conclude that the job of
Director of Training is actually employed by several staff members at the school.
Assessment of need is determined by the two principals and the head of schools by
looking at the schools objectives and gaps in learning. Planning of instruction
(writing objectives, evaluating resources, access learner attributes, writing material,
and assessment of trainings) is completed by the lower school principal and one of
the two heads of school, while delivery of instruction is implemented by a
combination of heads of school and both middle and lower school principals through
the use of faculty meetings. Some training is carried out through small groups and
for these the trainings are implemented by team leaders as needed. It was also
noted that each member of administration was responsible for being aware of what
new technologies and practices were available. While the various jobs that the
multiple team members conduct are all overseen by the heads of school, it would
be beneficial to have one person who is responsible for all training needs as to
maintain constancy within the organization. It was stated that the reasoning for
maintaining the current structure was that the school would rather have subject
experts responsible for training in each area, it is my opinion that creating a part
time position to serves this job function would be beneficial. A sample job
description for what this would look like is below.
