PDB-1013 STATICS & DYNAMICS

ASSIGNMENT-I
1. Determine the magnitude and coordinate
direction angles of the resultant force acting
on the hook.
Ans:- FR=733N, x=53.5o, y=65.3o,z=133o

4. Determine the magnitude and direction measured

counter clock wise from the positive x axis of the
resultant force of the three forces acting on the ring A.
Take F1 = 500 N and = 20.

Ans:-FR=1.03N, =87.9o

2. If the magnitude of the resultant force acting on

the bracket is 600 N, directed along the positive
u axis, determine the magnitude of F1 and its
direction .
Ans:- F1=528N, =29.2o

5. The tower is held in place by three cables. If the

force of each cable acting on the tower is
shown, determine the magnitude and
coordinate direction angles , , of the
resultant force. Take x = 15 m, y = 20 m.

3. The guy wires are used to support the telephone

pole. Represent the force in each wire in
Cartesian vector form. Neglect the diameter of
the pole.
Ans:-FA=-43.5i+174j-174k
FB =5302i-79.8j-146k

Ans:- FR=1.49KN, =79.8o, =88.4o ,

=169.7o
