Academic Experience Reverse Engineering Project
I was the leader of a project where we reverse engineered a ratchet tie down. We hand
sketched the pieces and recreated the tie down by replicating the pieces on SolidWorks
and using a 3D printer. Step 1 Elementary Teaching
In step 1 a partner and I designed and implemented a one day lesson plan to an elementary school
centered around constructing a terrarium and the various elements needed for plants and animals to
survive.
Step 2 Middle School Teaching
I designed and implemented a one day lesson for a middle school science class room involving extracting
DNA from strawberries. This lesson was a 5E lesson plan with a step by step lab for the explore which
led students to a tangible artifact at the end of the lesson, the DNA of the strawberry.
Classroom Interactions
A partner and I developed a 3 day lesson plan taught to 9th grade preAP Biology students. This lesson
involved biogenetics and gel electrophoresis. The lesson stressed classroom participation and
questioning with every question and student response analyzed in order to determine the effectiveness
of various questioning types.

Project-Based Instruction
A partner and I developed and implemented a four day long inquiry based projected geared for a 9th
grade physics classroom. This lesson implemented technology and a final artifact for the students to
create. The lesson was developed so the students would create the core concepts themselves through
guided inquiry and experimentation.
