ASSOCIATION OF BIVALVES WITH MANGROVE

ECOSYSTEM IN COASTAL WATERS Waai, MALUKU
CENTRAL
ABSTRAK

This study aimed to determine the association with mangrove bivalves in

coastal waters Waai village, Central Maluku. Laying the transect line was based
on the presence of mangrove ecosystems with environmental parameters
measured at each transect include temperature, salinity, water pH, DO. Bivalves
and mangrove sampling performed on the same transects using belt transects
(transect continued) with a size of 10 x 10 meter plots and sub-plots of 1 x 1
meter. Performed on laboratory sample identification LIPI Ambon.
In this study, Bivalvia found as many as 667 people were scattered in
every plot observations. While mangrove found that as many as 6 species,
Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora stylosa, Ceriops tagal, Sonneratia alba,
Aegiceras cormniculatum and Herritiera littoralis. The results of the analysis of
the existence of the association, the association type and association level,
indicating that the chances of an association is very large compared to the
opportunities no association. This means that these species tend to live together
and are often found in a habitat much more than tend to live on their own. Type of
association bivalves and waters of coastal mangrove village Waai varies the
positive and negative associations, while the minimum level indicated by
obtaining the value of the Association Jaccard Index (JI) <1.
