staff members)
Currently undertaking a review of school programs to increase student
opportunities (including Advanced Placement courses)
Working with the Parent Council to increase communication with the school community
(website, electronic newsletter, automated phone messages, twitter)
Have launched initiatives involving consultation with students, staff and parents
to promote a positive school climate
As the curriculum leader of the school I have facilitated initiatives to increase
student achievement results, for example in math and literacy, credit accumulation, and
pass rates

taught a third year Education Foundations Course to students in the Contemporary Studies
Program. This was a new course when I started to teach it, and as such, I was responsible
for the development of the course and its ongoing review. The course included a field
practicum component and is taken by students who wish to pursue a career in education

Department Head of Geography, History, and Family Studies. Responsible for the
implementation and review of two rounds of curriculum reform in this amalgamated
department
Teacher of geography and history at all grade levels. Taught in several programs and
classes geared toward at-risk learners. Developed a four credit, integrated,
interdisciplinary environmental course which included the development of a Locally
Developed Course
