How does your media product

represent particular social groups?
My media product represents the age group of 16 years olds
and above.
The magazine will be designed typically for teen girls who
are not interested in the daily mainstream of the music charts.
My USP; it is not your everyday music magazine and instead
involves the fashion industry and clothing related side to
attract teen girls.
Genres
R&B and pop.
Being two of the most popular music genres globally.

What kind of media institution might

distribute your media product and
why?
My magazine would be distributed online and in stores. Doing
this I will make it easy for customers to buy. For my magazine to
be sold successfully, I would sell it in big stores internationally in
England and most parts of Western Europe, such as:

WHSmith
HMV
Newsagents
E-copies and well known supermarkets.

Selling my magazine in a variety of stores and supermarkets

causes a no hassle system for my customers.

Who would be the audience for

your media product?
My audience are most likely be:

Female

Teenagers

Working class

Still under education

Involved in their first/second job.

The price of my magazine will be sold at 1.99.
One of the aims of my magazine is to bring teen girls which have a common
interest in fashion and R&B/pop music together creating a strong fan base.
Due to media such as

TV shows

Idols

Fashion

Music
teen girls have a higher over view on growing up to be like an idol of theirs
making them buy magazines which contains celebs and gossip. My magazine
takes a new effect on the interests and influences on teen girls social side of
life.

How did you attract or address

your audience?
From my recent questionnaires, I found out the key things which
my audience like and want within a magazine. This helped my
understand what

Fonts
Colours
Themes
Images to use when creating my magazine.

My audience wanted to know about roles models, exclusive

photos, subtle colours and a mixture of fonts. Using formal
text help engage the teens/adults as they are starting jobs and
finish education meaning they are becoming independent and
rely on interacting with others in a formal manner.

The magazine will be easy to purchase as the front cover is

very welcoming and subtle which opens up to new music and
fashion. When it came to my front cover, I made the main
image take up the whole page. This is a photo which I took
myself.

When taking photographs of Anna (who is my model for my magazine), I made her look directly into the camera
to connect with my audience to make it seem like we are directly talking to them as individuals, creating a
rapport with the females who buy my magazine.

What have you learnt about

technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
Throughout the process of constructing my magazine, I used
programmes such as Photoshop and InDesign.
When using the programmes I had learnt about the benefits of
creating layers to overlap text and images onto a
background. Problems which occurred was that I merged the
layers together therefore I was not able to go back and edit
them further.
To help this problem to not occur again, I asked for feedback
from my teachers so any changes which needed to be made I
could do before merging the layers.
The use of the Macs was also an important part of my magazine.

Looking back at your preliminary task, what

do you feel you have learnt in the
progression from it to the full product?
From the previous preliminary task, I have developed more advanced, better
quality photos and layouts which make my front cover, contents page and double
page spread more professional.

I had put much more time and effort into my own

magazine making it specific to my drafts. I also used a
professional camera which produced better quality
photos.
Compared to the prelim task, much more research was
done to find out more about my audience and their
requirements taking more time to complete.
