Choose Life!
Introduction
For our project we will be creating a bill. Our bill will be attempting to abolish abortion in our wonderful state
of Georgia. In other words, if it becomes a law, Georgia will become a Pro Life state. This is a very good thing
because, since abortion was legalized in 1973, over 56 million unborn children have been killed all around the
world, more than the entire population of Spain. That's 155 babies per hour. About 1 every 24 seconds.
We are very excited to do this project because it really ties into what we believe in. We get to help give our
peers a perspective on this subject and learn more about our government law making process. In order to get our
idea across we must do a few different things. For one, we will be writing a letter to our representative. We will
also try to make others aware of our idea and point of view by creating a few different multimedia resources, as
well as using a video that shows our perspective. All in all, we are hoping to make an impact on our community
at large and eventually even save lives of innocent unborn babies.
Essential/Driving Research Question
1. What are the negative effects of abortions on our society today?
2. How can we help women who want to have an abortion so that they can support the child?

Intended Outcome
Our main intended outcome is to learn more about how State government works. Our second intended outcome
is to contact our representative. By contacting our representative, we will be forced to learn more about who our
representative is. We also intend to persuade our representative to Choose Life! and make abortions illegal.
We will create a bill to persuade our representative, and we will contact them by doing so. Finally, by creating
this bill will learn more about bills and what the legislature has to do to approve them.
Group Member and Job Assignment
Alex Cortez- Will complete the intended outcome, essential questions, and vocabulary. She will do half of the
research page (mainly articles),
Zenia Lakhani- Will complete the introduction and standards, half of the research page (including media
research),

Result (10 pts)
When we started this project, our intended result was to learn more about our state government, the
process that a bill goes through to become a law, and how to contact our state representative. I think that my
group did meet its criteria. First of all, I had to write a letter to my state representative. To do this, I had to first
learn who my state representative was. When I researched my state representative, I learned about how district
lines are drew, and that each district has one state representative. I also learned how a bill becomes a law when I
did research on the bill that made abortions legal 40 years ago. Throughout all of my research, I met my main
criteria. I also set a goal to learn something new about abortions. This goal was also accomplished when I did
research for my letter. I learned that less than 1% of women who have an abortion, are rape victims. My group
exceeed in meeting our intended outcome.
While meeting our criteria, my group created a few interesting products as well. First of all, we created
a two dimensional, one minute video about abortions and their effects on women. We also created a business
cards to help raise awareness about abortions. My parteners mom handed them out at her daycare for us. This
business cards are eye catching and informational. These cards can help others learn about abortions so that they
can make an educated descision if they want to choose life. Finally, my partener and I created multiple social
media pages to help raise awareness about abortions. These pages can help people understand our point of view
on abortions. By helping raise awareness about abortions, I learned many new things about abortions, and about
Georgias governement.
Reflection (10 pts)

I learned many new things with this create a bill project. First of all, I learned how to contact my
representative, Buzz Brockway. I also learned a little about how to correctly write a business letter. By raising
awareness about abortions and their negative effects, I learned many new things about abortions, such as
relationship problems following abortions. I also didnt know that I could write to my representative. This
project helped me not only with my education, but with my technology skills. Creating a video for this project
helped learn more about that type of technology. There was only a small problem when my partner was absent,
but we communicatde online and worked everything out. This project had more sensetive topics, but it also had
topics that my partner and I were really passionate about. We even argued about our point of view with other
classmates! I think that this project also took more confidence then other projects, to present in front of the
class, and to talk about sensetive topics. Overall, this project was very beneficial to my education, and to my
social skills.
