WELCOME TO CERAMICS !!
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Ceramics is an advanced level course that focuses on the properties of clay and methods to make 3D art. Students will explore the
various hand building techniques to create 3-D artworks that are both craft and fine art. Students will also experiment with various glazing
techniques to create a variety of effects on their artworks. Students will create artists statements and participate in peer critiques about their
work and the work of others. This is a studio class and students will be expected to assist in maintaining a working ceramics studio.
Students must have received a C or above average in all previous art courses.

imagine, create, realize and refine artworks in conventional and innovative ways.
Authentic Application and Collaboration: Students work individually and in groups to focus
