information infrastructure through the development of hospital information
technology.
National Health Information System links all practices and health practitioners
as well as students in the country through the use of computer based
communication channels.

The electronic health record system, hospital information system, clinical

information system, patient information management system, healthcare
information system are integrated through a central database system that
are controlled and protected by a government health institution such as
the Department of Health.

With the hospital departmental computer systems such as laboratory,

microbiology, and pharmacy connected to the network, institutions generally
collect and store data in a central data repository.

The model shown below is idealistic and will potentially address a large
number of the serious problems facing our health care system, ranging from
error prevention and reduction in practice variation to reduce administrative
costs, enhance efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare service.

The national health information system should have a unique and intelligent
system such as disease surveillance capable of providing support for decision
making process.
