Capstone Project / Internship Idea
Formulate targeted organic facial remedies for 10 different tests subjects with varying skin types
and use it over 2 weeks to record their results. This can be enhanced by learning things from my
mentorship at Mansfield Dermatology shadowing Allison Willbanks, PAC. I will meet with their office
once every week to assist in any way possible.

Passion behind Capstone Project / Internship

These paired together will give me a better insight on my intended career plan in life,
Dermatology. In fact, they will allow me to dive further into the realm of dermatology in both aspects of
patient interaction and medicine compilation. Mostly, I am excited to see if being in the field will alter my
views on what I want to be in life.

At least 10 Milestones with Dates

1. 11/30/14: Approve mentorship
2. 12/15/14: Find 10 people with acne that are willing to be test subjects
3. 12/30/14: Research organic acne remedies and find a mixture that targets each subjects acne
level; Create Volunteer consent form to give to patients
4. 1/30/14: Make product; Create Application Direction sheet
5. 1/30/14-2/15/15: Give treatments to patients, 2 week trial
6. 2/15/15: End trials, gather all pictures and data from subjects
7. 3/15/15: Compare data; ask either Mansfield Dermatology (internship) or Cosmetology
department at Waxahachie High School if I can present my findings to them
8. 3/30/15: Write report and create presentation for presentations, including the experimental journey
and the end result and my time at the internship
9. 4/30/15: Refine all necessary components for presentation

Final Product
The final product will be a marketable organic face product that targets specific levels of acne. As
well as proper results of the trial, documentation and a well-rounded presentation.
Weekly Commitment / Schedule
Every Tuesday 2-5pm.
Audience
People with acne and people interested in Dermatology at Capstone Showcase and the
Cosmetology Department of Waxahachie High School or my internship location, Mansfield Dermatology.
How Success Will be Measured
If I am consistently meeting deadlines, my trial has a positive turn-out, and I have a product by
the end of the year.
