(@) (b) (a) (b) (a) (b) (@) (b) June 2011 EC/FT 105 ENGINEERING GRAPHICS ( 2006 Scheme) Maximum Marks: 100 A train is moving at a speed of 72Km/hour. Construct a diagonal scale of RFE Ss ond . Represent a distance moved by the train in 4 minute and 27 seconds in this scale. (19) Draw a vernier scale with backward reading vernier to read centimeters, and to read a maximum length of 4m on it. The RF of the scale is oo . Showa length of 2.39m on it. (10) OR Construct a rectangular hyperbola when a point ‘P” on it is at a distance of 18mm and 34mm from two asymptotes. Also draw a tangent to the curve at a point 20mm from an asymptote. (10) Draw a logarithmic spiral of one convolution, the successive radii being at the ratio 9 : 8 and final radius vector is 90mm. The angle between the successive radii is 30°. Draw a tangent at any point on the curve. (10) The projection of a line AB are on the same projector. A is 10mm above HP and 20mm in front of VP. B is 35mm below HP and 25mm behind VP. Draw the projections of the line AB and determine its true length, inclinations with HP and VP and locate its traces. (10) A regular hexagonal plane of 45mm side has a corner on HP and its surface is inclined at 45° to HP. Draw the projections, when the diagonal through the comer which is on HP, makes 30° with VP. (10) oR A line AB has its ends A and B, 20mm and 45mm in front of VP respectively. The projectors of the line are 50mm apart. The HT of the line is 10mm in front of VP. The line AB is inclined at 35° to HP. Draw the projections of the line and determine the true length of the line and locate its VT. Find inclination of the line with VP. (19) A regular pentagonal lamina of 25mm side is resting on HP on one of its sides, while the opposite corner touches VP. Draw the projections of the lamina, when it makes an angle 60° with HP. (oy A hexagonal prism of base 25mm side and axis 45mm long is positioned with one of its base edge on HP such that the axis is inclined at 30° to HP and 45° to VP. Draw its projections. Follow the change of position method. (20) OR A oylinder of 50mm diameter and 70mm long, is lying on HP on one of its generation, such that the axis is parallel to both HP and VP. A section plane inclined at 30° to the HP passes through the midpoint of the axis. Draw the projections of the solid and show the true shape of the section. (20) (.T.0,) oe ae IX. ‘A pentagonal prism with 20mm side of base and 45mm height, stands vertically on its base with two of its rectangular faces equally inclined to VP. The VT of a cutting plane is inclined at 45° to the axis of the prism and passes through the left corner of the top face of the prism. Develop the lateral surface of the lower portion of the prism. (20) OR ‘A square prism with side of base 50mm is resting on its base on HP. It is penetrated by a horizontal triangular prism of base 40mm side such that the axes are off-set by 6mm. The faces of the square prism are equally inclined to VP, while a face of triangular prism is inclined at 45° with HP. Draw the projections of two solids, showing the lines of intersections. (20) A paper weight consists of three portions. The bottom most portion is a cylinder of 60mm diameter and 20mm height. The middle portion is a frustrum of cone of height 20mm and bottom 60mm diameter and top is 30mm diameter. The topmost part is a hemisphere of 15mm radius. Draw the isometric projection of the paper weight. (20) OR Draw the perspective projection of a cube of 50mm side resting on one of its bases on the ground, with a vertical edge, 20mm behind PP. A vertical face containing the nearest vertical edge is inclined at 60° to PP. The station point is 10mm to the right of vertical edge, 75mm above GP and 20mm in front of PP. (20) eee
