Course Description:
The course will examine the often untold story of workers struggles to improve
their lives through union organizing and collective bargaining. From early craft
unions, the bloody battles to form industrial unions and the rise of labor
federations and public sector unions.
Learning Outcomes:
Students will be able to describe the lessons learned from labor history and
their current relevance.

Attendance Policy: Students are expected to attend every class meeting, arrive
on time and stay throughout the class period. Students may be dropped from
class for excessive absenteeism. Students are responsible for notifying the
instructor if they are going to miss a class and must make arrangements to make
up any missed assignments and/or tests.
