There are several things to know about genetically modified foods and protein synthesis
and how they work together to get the job done. For example went to the grocery last night and
seen a huge watermelon. The watermelon is huge because the genetic chemicals they spray on
the crops so the crops grow more food. With more food less children go hungry, and it also helps
the farmers earn more money. But what really does all this mean especially Genetic engineering
and protein synthesis hang here and learn all needed to know and if it is safe.
Protein synthesis is the creation of proteins by cells that use DNA,RNA and various
enzymes (www.proteinsynthesis.org/what-is-protein-synthesis).The process of protein synthesis
is just a simple word called Translation. How it works is the DNA has DNA strands that consist
of ATCG. The A and T pair together and the C and G pair together. Then the DNA strands split
apart and so DNA turns into mRNA so now A and U pairs together and G and C pair together.
Then mRNA is sent to the Cytoplasm, where it later bonds with ribosomes. When it is bonded
with ribosomes the mRNA pairs with tRNA. And the amio acid in tRNA bonds together with
something and the process is complete. The process doesnt end until the tRNA is released. Then
thats why they genetically engineer most of our foods (www.proteinsynthesis.org/what-isprotein-synthesis).

Genetic Engineering is where they make up cells, and transfer genes to produce more of
and organism. How this all works is they take chemicals and spray it on our crops, so that the
crops will produce more food. Some of the methods of genetic engineering are the Plasmid
method and this one is the one that is commonly used, its where they alter the genes. The Vector
method, this method is very different then the Plasmid method, in this method the genetic
information replicates itself. Finally, The Biolistic Method is how the plant shows traits and
characteristics for the DNA that was in them. All these methods sure make people wonder what
theyre really eating and if it is dangerous to humans (By: Amna Adnan)
Do genetically engineered foods pose a risk to our human health or not? Well they tried to
see if genetically modified food hurt rats before they tested it using humans so first they feed the
rats tomatoes to start and the rats developed legions on their stomach so they got rid of GM
tomatoes. Next, they feed them corn and the rats had problems with blood cells, lever, and
kidney formation. They then fed them soy and they also had problems with lever cell formation.
They said it could pose a risk to human health but they dont have evidence that I does. That
makes some people think if all those problems that the rats had eating genetically modified foods
what risks might our country be taking eating them or all the health problems that could develop.

Should they label the food that is genetically modified? Yes they should because maybe
some people dont want to eat food that has been genetically modified. Or some people could be
allergic to something they used in the chemicals to spray on the crops this time. Or someone
might feel safer by them labeling it. They also just might want to know what them and their
family is eating. I mean sure the genetically engineered foods never were labeled and that never
hurt anyone that we know of. For the safety of our families and for just wanting to know what
theyre eating we should have labels on our food. Thats just my opinion you could easy agree or
disagree this is what I strongly believe.
There are several things to say and argue about this topic. From all this research this can
say you believe or dont believe they should label genetically modified food. But just remember
make a good choice and make it what is best for our whole community.
