The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, invites
potential Event Organizers to submit quotations for the UNDP Entrepreneurship Award 2015.
The Event Organizer shall:
Send out invitations, ensure close follow up for confirmations and regularly share database
with UNDP
Regularly liaise with corporate sponsors of the event
Support in getting more sponsors for the event
Creatively brand the venue ensuring visibility for sponsors while maintaining a strong overall branding as UNDP Entrepreneurship Award
Liaise with management of selected venue to ensure proper preparations ahead of time
and smooth running of the event on day of the award.
Assign an active MC (Master of Ceremony) for the event
Support in designing the overall programme (flow of events)
Support in preparation of the list of finalists and support activities related to the public announcements
Prepare branded large size prize cheques to be handed over to winners at the event
Creatively communicate messages of the event (storytelling, best practices, show cases,
messages from beneficiaries, message from EDC, etc.)
Manage audiovisual setup for the event (screen shows, videos, etc.)
Provide usher services at the event
Arrange live music for the event

Organization Profile:
A Glimmer of Hope (Glimmer) is a US based charitable organization with the mission of
offering hope and help to those who suffer unnecessarily from the injustice of poverty. A
Glimmer of Hope aims to support the efforts of people in rural Ethiopia to help them make
a sustainable difference in their lives. Among the development Programs supported by
Glimmer are water supply, sanitation and hygiene; education; health and income creation

A Glimmer of Hope implements its programs/projects through region based local NGO
implementing partners in the 4 major regions, namely Amhara, Oromia, SNNPR and

(ADA), Organization for the Development and Rehabilitation in Amhara (ORDA),
Amhara Credit and Saving Institution (ACSI), Relief Society of Tigray (REST), Tigray
Development Association (TDA), Dedebit Credit and Saving Institution (DECSI), Oromia
Development Association (ODA), Oromia Credit and Saving Share Company (OCSSCO),
Dawro Development Association (DDA), Sidama Development Association (SDA), Omo
Mocrofinance Institution (OMFI), Bench-Maji Development Association (BMDA) and
Abebech Gobena Yehitsanat Kibkabena Limat Mahiber.
A Glimmer of Hope Ethiopia Country Office needs audit service from an authorized
audit firm for its 2014 books of accounts.
The Scopes of the Service:
Conduct Financial Audit directed to examination of books of accounts and financial
statement for the year 2014 ending December 31, 2014. Draft and final Management
Letter (ICM) and Audit Report will be the major outputs of the engagement. The Audit firm
is expected to commence its work as of February 1, 2015.
The Audit firm is also required to respond to queries of external auditors of our home
office located in Austin, Texas, USA. The Audit firm may be required to visit some project
sites and send confirmations, testing and all supporting working papers based on the
request of auditors of our home office.
Requirements:
All authorized audit firms who fulfill the following requirements and classified as (GRADE
B and above) by the office of the Federal Auditor General are invited for the bid. Interested
firms are expected to submit evidences of the following requirements:


Renewed Business/trade license;


Tax payers identification number (TIN No.);
Renewed Professional license from the Office of the Federal Auditor General.

The prospective firm shall declare whether it has the requisite personal qualification,
experience, reasonable skill, care and diligence in the performance of the service in
accordance with recognized professional standards. Having professional staff and valid
experience in the area are basic requirements.
With regards to this bid announcement, the Audit firm is expected to:
Assess the extent of the financial audit work required by observing the documents
available with Finance Section of Glimmer of Hope Ethiopia office and specify the
time required to complete the job.
Develop proposal and declare the amount of audit fee to be charged for the audit
work.
Submit all necessary documents (CV, Credential etc) that authenticate the qualification
and experience of the staff and confirm assignment of required professional for the
financial audit.
Include time schedule needed to undertake the audit and time frame for submission
of final audit report;
Submit sealed quotation quoting the fee for the required service along with the

: MESA Monitoring and Evaluation officer

Main duties andresponsibilities


1. Dealing with Grant implementation monitoring ensuring that Regional
Implementation Centre (RICs) sends their reporting to AUC on time, edit,
review and summarize these reports in some clear and concise information
for AUC. This should concern both grant activity and finance components
of the RIC reports. Data Analysis will be made. The M&E officer will base
his/her work on an M&E system which is already underway.
2. Monitoring the implementation of the three MESA contracts namely
training and infrastructure contracts liaising with the MESA technological
development expert as far as training is concerned and with the IT expert
as far as infrastructure is concerned.
3. Manage, maintain and update a database with regard to training and services
development, grant execution, training and infrastructures development.
4. Control on financial documentation such as tendering or procurement under
the supervision of the MESA Administrator (P2).
5. Assisting the RICs Managers in some programmatic and financial areas of
the grants as far as grants implementation is concerned and upon request
by the RICs.
6. Supporting the Program Coordinator and Team Leader in reporting and
document preparation and editing. More importantly a follow up of document
and correspondence is to be guaranteed.
7. Liaise regularly with the RIC managers and RIC Thema experts to obtain
regular information on the grant implementation in order to produce three
months reporting on the grant activities based on the indicators of the
Monitoring and Evaluation system.
8. He/she would also be tasked of designing some ad hoc surveys at RIC
level upon as needed
9. In general and on demand, supporting the AUC Coordinator and the Team
Leader encoding task and activities related to program management,
planning and implementation.

Requirements
1. At least Bachelor degree in Program management with reference to M&E
finance or other related topics.
2. Very good knowledge of spoken and written English; knowledge of French
would be an important asset.
3. Knowledge of computer software in particular Winword, Excel and Power
Point, Access.
4. Knowledge of data base software like Acces or SPPS will be an additional
asset.

Professional experience
1. At least 8 years of working experience in the area of Program Management,
Finance with responsibility of program implementation, monitoring and
evaluation, financial control.
2. Experience in program reporting and document preparation.
3. Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation system design and follow up as
well as data base management by Access or other related package.
4. Working experience in complex programs with high degree of
interdependence between components
5. Exposure to remote sensing programs with responsibility of monitoring and
evaluation and service development implementation would be an asset.

in May 2007 with the support of Edukans Foundation/ICCO
Alliance, the Netherlands. It has been re-registered in October
2009 as per the new Charities and Societies Proclamation
by the Ethiopian government bearing a registration number
of 0009.
DEC is working on six major development pillars operating
under six programs:

three regional states of Ethiopia (Afar, Amhara and Oromiya)

its targets are the highly marginalized groups of the society

Pathfinder is seeking a Reproductive, Maternal and Neonatal Health Advisor


candidate for DFIDs Reducing Barriers and Increasing Utilization of Reproductive,
Maternal and Neonatal Health Services in Ethiopias Programme. DFID wishes to
engage a Technical Assistance Provider (TAS) to support the Ethiopian Federal
Ministry of Health to manage the reproductive, maternal and neonatal health
innovation fund (RIF). The RIF aims to increase the utilization of RMNH services,
enhance accountability of service providers (civil society, regional development
agencies) to the government and improve regional equity.

basic Requirements:
Masters degree in public health policy, international development, health
economics or related field.
7+ years experience implementing mid to large-scale health and/or
international development programs in developing and transitioning
countries, with at least 5 years experience providing hands-on technical
assistance in health systems strengthening.
Extensive experience in international public health management, training
and capacity building.
Recent experience providing technical assistance in health systems
strengthening to public, NGO and/or private sector implementing partners
in Ethiopia.
Ability to develop, implement and monitor policy standards, protocols and
guidelines.
Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and cross-cultural communications
skills.
Solid training and capacity building experience, including curriculum

Firm conceptual and analytical skills as well as the ability to translate data

Provide support to operationalize health policies, ensure client


responsive services and optimal use of government and donor
resources.

Prepare technical documentation and reports related to: increasing


access to services, reducing barriers

and increasing use of interventions; results for donors, government stakeholders


and in-country and regional partner organizations.
Collaborate with FMOH to mobilize commitment and support for increase access
to services, reducing barriers and increase use of interventions.
Perform other duties as requested by the Team Leader.

Chief Security Office
ILRI seeks a qualified Chief Security Officer to ensure the security and safeguarding of the
people and physical resources on the ILRI Addis Ababa campus, as well as ILRI staff and
property throughout the country.
General: The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) works at the crossroads
of livestock and poverty, bringing high-quality livestock science, communications and
capacity building to bear on poverty reduction and sustainable development. ILRI is one
of 15 centres supported by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research
(CGIAR). ILRI has campuses in Kenya (headquarters) and Ethiopia, with other offices
located in other regions of Africa (Mali, Mozambique, and Nigeria) as well as in South Asia
(India, Sri Lanka), Southeast Asia (Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam) and East Asia (China).

Key duties & responsibilities:
SCOPE
Ensures the security of ILRI staff, campus users, and ILRI property on the ILRI
Addis Ababa campus, as well as ILRI events off-campus, ILRI staff and property
stationed throughout the country, and ILRI staff and consultants travelling
throughout the country.
POLICIES & PLANNING
Implements security policies. Regularly reviews policies, identifies gaps, and
drafts recommended improvements to policies;
Verifies compliance with policies through regular and documented spot checks;
Conducts regular risk assessments, develops risk mitigation plans, and monitors
plans;
Develops, implements, monitors and maintains preventive safety and security
plans, as well as emergency preparedness plans. Regularly reviews plans in
relation to the changing need;
Works closely with the Chief Security Office in Nairobi, to ensure as far as
possible, policies, procedures and SOPs are uniform.
MONITORING SECURITY
Monitors the security situation throughout the country;
Coordinates information and advisories on security situations and disseminates
the information to relevant users;
Monitors security of ILRI campus and other ILRI offices;
Conducts random inspections and audits of the security services at all sites
including assessing the security standards in hotels, external events, external
IRS staff housing and provides recommendations for risk mitigation. Manages
residential security surveys and assesses threat level on a continuous basis;
Manages investigations of security-related incidents and follows-up on afteractions;
Advises management on Ethiopia security related matters.
EDUCATION, COMMUNICATION, and COORDINATION
Ensures that all ILRI staff, campus users, travelling consultants, and eligible
family members receive required orientation, security training and briefings;
Issues relevant security advisories to relevant stakeholders;
Ensures all understand and complies with all security policies and procedures.
Establishes and manage relationships with program /department /unit managers,
identifies their security needs, advices and supports them on the development of
relevant security protocols.
Liaises with external stakeholders such as government security agencies, other
organizations, companies, embassies, local authorities on matters specific to
security;
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Provides leadership and guidance to security group leaders including managing
their performance;
Ensures the out-sourced service providers/contractors meet and comply with
ILRIs security policies and protocols;

Develops and manages the security budget plans, monitors and makes
adjustments where and when necessary;
Ensures that all security equipment is procured, used and maintained effectively.

REPORTING
Maintains daily logs and statistics and prepares risk management reports, regular
summary reports any other ad hoc reports, as required;
Ensures logs and reports are properly filed.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Education & Work Experience:
Bachelors degree
A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
Experience in security or risk management, gained from public or private
service, in such areas as national security, military or police service, or in a
corporate environment or international organization
Personal attributes/Core competencies
Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, implement and maintain security
operations with high standards;
Excellent judgment and decision making skills;
Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills to work
