This rubric evaluates student work on an article of the week assignment based on four criteria: marking the text, credibility, reflection, and writing conventions. Different point ranges are provided based on the level of completion and quality of work in each area. For example, work that meets standards and earns 40-50 points is well marked with ideas in the margins, supports the author's thesis, includes an original reflective response of the required length, and uses complete sentences. Work scoring below 30 points is only lightly marked with few ideas, does not support the thesis, has a very short reflection, and shows little effort.
