Ebola outbreak: a war with an enemy we dont see

Another doctor from Sierra Leone tested positive for Ebola and an official said shed be
evacuated abroad for extensive medical treatment. Dr. Olivette Buck is the fourth doctor from
Sierra Leone to contract the deadly disease. The other three have died.
The disease is particularly striking health care workers, whose jobs put them at heavy risk
because of frequent exposure to the disease which increases transmission rate via blood, bodily
fluids, dead bodies, etc. More than 135 health care workers have died in the outbreak so far, and
several affected countries are facing shortages of nurses, doctors, and other types of workers.
This outbreak is the worst Ebola outbreak ever in history, causing up to 2200 deaths in
other African countries like Liberia, Guinea, Nigeria and Senegal. Liberia has been hit especially
hard by this outbreak. Liberians have been urged to unite, warning that if they didnt, the virus
would consume all of us.
In order to completely contain Ebola, Liberia must be dependent on financial and medical
assistance from its other neighbouring countries. But chances of Ebola eradication decrease
when the government predicts the outbreak will grow more than half this year. We are at war
with an enemy we dont see says Liberian Finance Minister, Amara Konneh. And we have to
win the war.
