ABC will have its next meeting Tuesday the 24th at 6 pm in the Curet Conference Room
of Hodges Hall. The guest speaker will be Mr. Seth Lewis from the WBRZ News Team.

PRSSA Black History Month Twitter chat on Feb. 25 at 7 p.m.


The PRSSA at LSU diversity committee will host a Black History Month Twitter Chat on
Feb. 25 at 7 pm. The Twitter Chat will focus on the representation of Black History
Month in mainstream media and how social media is affecting how modern Black
history is covered. Please join our conversation to advance the discussion of Black
History Month with #BHMPRSSA.

PRSSA Agency PR meeting, Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. in the Holliday


Forum
Do you want to learn more about the ins and outs of agency PR? Come to our meeting
this Thursday at 6 p.m. to hear Kali Johnson from Solid Ground Innovations discuss
agency PR. We will be meeting in the Holliday Forum of the Journalism building.

PRSSA Service Activity, Feb. 25 at 2:30 p.m.


Come play bingo with PRSSA at Southside Gardens Retirement and Assisted Living
Center this Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 2:30 p.m. This is a fun service opportunity and a
great way for members to earn a point toward active membership. Email

ESPN Content Associates Program


On February 24, two representatives from ESPN will be at LSU to introduce the Content

Associate Program, an intro-production fulltime job for students right after graduation.
The presentation is at 5:45 in the Holliday Forum, followed by a Q&A. The
representatives can also speak individually with students about the program. They will
not, however, interview for summer internships. For more information, contact Mary

Become a Manship Ambassador!


Do you want to be a Manship Ambassador? Manship Ambassadors are student leaders
focused on promoting and developing the Manship School nationally. They will help
recruit high-achieving students, plan programs, and help execute the goals of the
school. The program is for Mass Communication majors who have leadership ability
and want to further develop their skills. Applications are available in 211 Journalism
Building. The deadline is March 20, 2015
YOU qualify to be an ambassador if you

Have a 3.0 GPA


Will be classified as a junior/senior Mass Comm major in fall 2015 with at least
two semesters remaining before graduation
Are a member of at least one student organization or have experience in Student
Media
Can attend an overnight (two nights) retreat May 11-13, 2015 (expenses paid)

Special Announcement
GREAT NEWS!! Once again, the LSU School of Mass Communication has been
chosen by Scripps Howard Foundation for two student summer internship awards.
Each student will receive $3000 to help underwrite expenses at an unpaid internship or
an internship in an expensive market such as New York or Washington D.C. Upon
successful completion of the internship, the student will receive an additional $500.
Qualified internships are considered any of the following:
Multimedia: writing/newsgatheringcontent for all platforms. (print/broadcast)
News Producer: help create/coordinate/execute all news casts (broadcast)
Digital: can be mobile app development/digital marketing/social media strategy.
(Journalism focus; pr and adv majors with knowledge of AP style also eligible)
Entrepreneur: new media innovation projects/media-tech startups and product
development; creation of digital assets.
More details on each of these are posted by Student Media and on the internship
coordinators door: 207C Journalism Bldg.
Internship placement should be at least 35 hours for 10 weeks.
Internships can be taken anywhere, including Scripps Howard newspapers/digital
media/ broadcasters. But students cant do an internship at a competitor in a market

where Scripps operates.
