Teachers

Overview:
We will introduce our Explore/Explain lesson planner and show how the
teachers use it to incorporate mini-lessons with time for students to explore
concepts and explain learning in all content areas. We will also explain our
use of charting and the + and formative assessment charts for ongoing
student learning.

Classroom Observations:
We will visit 4 third grade classrooms with teachers focusing on a different
content area within each to showcase the explore/explain format in reading,
math, writing, and STEM.

Debriefing:
We will conduct a discussion in which the teachers you saw in the
demonstration lessons are released to answer participant questions and
reflect on the key components they consider when planning an
explore/explain lesson.
