The chief of staff for a US congressman for over two decades, Lencho Rendon now serves as president of LR Global, LLC, a Texas-based consulting firm that offers strategic solutions to domestic and international businesses. During his time on Capitol Hill, Lencho Rendon participated on diplomatic and trade delegations to several countries and was active in promoting the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Implemented on January 1, 1994, NAFTA is a formal trade agreement that establishes the rules for investment and trade between the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Since the agreement came into effect, it has eliminated many of the barriers to trade and investment between the three countries and has helped increase economic growth, create jobs, and reduce prices on consumer goods in North America. In the United States, NAFTA promotes Made-in-America exports that support more than 140,000 small and medium-sized businesses and over 3 million American jobs. NAFTA has had the most impact on US manufacturing exports, which have increased 258 percent over the last two decades.
