Interview with Dr. Mike Stalnaker

What is the best part of the book of Revelation? The best part for me is knowing that God
wins, the devil is defeated, and sin is conqueror through Christ.

How many books do you have on the book of Revelation? I would easily I have close to fifty
commentaries on the Book of Revelation.

In your opinion who wrote the best commentary on the book of Revelation? I like several
authors: Robert Thomas, William Barclay, John MacArthur, and John Walvoord.

How does the book of Revelation relate to the rest of the Bible? I like what a Chuck Missler
said, The OT says, behold He comes. The NT Gospels say, Behold He died. Acts says,
Behold He lives. The epistles say, Behold He saves. But the book of Revelation says,
Behold he reigns.

What's the biggest thing someone may need to know about revelation? I think of several
things. Number one, it is the book of Revelation, not Revelations (plural). It is one revelation not a plurality of revelations. Number two, this is the only book that comes with a promise to the
person that reads it (Revelation 1:3). Number three, when the book starts off by saying, "The
Revelation of Jesus Christ" it is used in both objective and subjective sense. He is the revealed
One and He is the One doing the revealing.

What is the Key verse in the book of Revelation? I believe that it is Revelation 1:19 because it
gives you an outline of the content that follows. "Write therefore the things that you have seen
(past - chapter 1), those that are (present - chapters 2-3) and those that are to take place after this
(chapters 4-22)."
