Guest Speakers

Detail/Skills Covered
Students attended a presentation by
current year FBLA officers regarding the
benefits of joining FBLA. Same
presentation as given at the beginning
of the school year in order to recruit
new students who have just entered
the business department classes this
semester.
Students kept track of expenses for two
weeks then used it to help create a one
month budget for themselves.
UPDATE: After looking over students
income and expenses for two weeks, it
was determined that due to the lack of
income and expense categories,
instead of creating and analyzing a one
month budget for themselves, they
created a one month budget for a given
fictional person (three different
scenarios/people used in order to
compare results (budget variance
solutions, etc.) amongst the class.
The current state project asks that
guest speakers visit the class to discuss
savings, investments, and the time
value of money. This requirement will
be covered by State Farm Agent with
degree in financial planning, Dave
Grant.
