I am more interested in this major. I am a
mathematical economics major here at WFU
and enjoy the classes. I have learned a lot

The Finance Major

The study of Finance focuses on the central
ideas of money. It includes, but is not limited to
subjects such as banking, credit, liabilities,
investments, and assets.

Finance Majors often pursue analyst and
broker positions. There are, however,
opportunities everywhere for this major. Many
private sector companies need employees with
a finance background. Every business needs
employees who understand the numbers.

Many schools do not have a finance specific
major. Instead, they have a holistic business
program or Economics program.

My Interest
I am more interested in this major as I learned
about it. I would like to pursue some financial
studies in graduate school. I am currently an

Personal Interest
I am definitely much more interested in the BEM major
here at Wake, although right now I am planning on
majoring in communication. I am hoping to minor in
Entrepreneurship and Social Enterprise which is in fact
closely related to parts of the BEM major.
