Ryan Soriano

Ryan is a sixteen year old boy who stops studying when he was in first year high
school. He has a broken family that composed of a father who was used in hurting him
because he failed in some of his subjects when he was still studying, as what he said to
us that after this situation, his father never fail to hurt him physically almost everyday but
even though he was being hurt or even there was a time that he was put in a sack and
then stocked there for almost two days without food or even water. He never fought to
his father because after all of what happened to him he said that, it is still his father and
even though also that he almost die. Ryan had a mother whos not with them anymore,
a sister who goes to college and little brothers who like him also stop studying.
He chose to stop and just work to earn money for himself. He is being paid in
equivalent of securing and watching to the cars that was entrusted to him in the parking
lot in front of San Beda College. He loves dancing and joined to the group of dancers
who dance every night near their house. He love helping others and join some of the
community service of St. Jude and this was the reason of how he found the Alternative
Learning System.
When we asked him of why didnt you again go to school? He just said that he
was so lazy to go there but rather go to ALS because it will be easier for him to learn
and also have his work at the same time.
