Systematic Observation 1: SOFIT

During this observation there were 10 seconds intervals that added up
to a total of 30 minutes. During those 10 seconds I observed students
to see if they were being active. The ultimate goal is to get the
students to do many minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity,
and from this systematic observation I was able to see progress from
last week. The seconds increased, so that means that more students

were participating and being active. The intro of course did not have
much activity because of the instructions given, but after that the
students were able to transition to the activity and get minutes of
physical activity. Overall, Mr. Bergstrom did a great job getting the
students to stay active longer than before. One thing I would tell him to
improve would be that during the instant activity or core of lesson, to
let the students to keep trying until they master the skill a little bit
more.
Systematic Observation 2: Idiosyncrasies
With this second observation sheet I was able to hear everything that
Mr. Reggie was saying to his students. During the time I heard Mr.
Bergstrom say, ok about 40 times throughout the lesson. I also heard
him say Alright, So, Um, and Uh quite a few times, but not as
much as ok. Mr. Bergstrom did an amazing job not saying you guys
a lot; as a matter of fact he only said it one time. Mr. Bergstrom can
keep such a positive attitude and has a great way with words with his
students. One thing I would encourage Mr. Bergstrom to do is say ok
fewer times every time he goes and teaches.
