Well: A18-08
Rig: ABAN-6
Date: 22-Aug-2011
Schlumberger
Public
Please note that the following is required for the upcoming TLC logging program:
Make up all required pipe needed for the job before Schlumberger rig-up.
No jars and drill collars are to be used. Make sure the X-Overs ID is correct and no internal
shoulder (smooth). All X-overs between SLB equipment and rig equipment (pipes, etc...) should
be provided by the client. DWCH connection is 3.5IF BOX, CSES is 4.5IF PIN x 4.5IF BOX
Drift (rabbit) all pipe to a minimum of 2.4in and as close as possible to the drift ID of the DP.
A complete and accurate pipe tally will be required before the logging.
Minimal amount of pipe dope on the pin of the DP only while RIH.
The maximum flow rate for circulation on an open (unlatched) DWCH is 500gpm and it is
300gpm for a latched PWCH and DWCH. These rates should never be exceeded as the tool
may be damaged if higher rates are used
Break circulation (with screen/strainer) every 10 stands, 15mins after returns are seen.
Inform SLB of any kicks in pressure. Circulate bottoms up when arriving at the latch depth.
Latch depth needs to be determined before RIH, we will stop when the bottom of the tool is at
this point to RIH the PWCH
NOTE: Anything dropping into the pipe (rags / rabbit / rope of rabbit / etc.) will result in
complete P.O.O.H and may damage the DWCH and the down-hole latch. Please notify Co-man or
SLB engineer if this happens.
During Wireline rig up, upper sheave wheel must be rigged up with the SLB fishing sling on the
derrick crossbeam
While RIH PWCH for latching, maintain proper pressure/flow rate as directed by Engineer/TLC
specialist. CSES is made up during this time with a make-up torque of 9000ft.lbs.
At about 200 m from latch point, the mud pump is stopped and cable tension is measured. The
pump is then restarted and the cable is run in for latch with pump rates advised by
Engineer/TLC specialist.
Once latch is confirmed, slowly decrease the mud pump until 0 while SLB engineer checks
the latch electrically and performs a tool operational check.

The CSES cable clamp is installed and pull tested to 3000lbs for 2 minutes once operational
check is completed. THE RIG FLOOR MUST BE CLEARED FOR THIS TEST.

TLC Requirements
Align rotary bushings to prevent cable from being wedged between the bushings. Snatch pulley will be installed at this point to keep the cable away from traveling block & drill pipes.
Agree on a depth reference with the Driller and RIH from this point. Downhole
compression/tension of Schlumberger tools will be monitored by SLB Engineer.
When connecting/disconnecting the drill pipes, make sure the logging cable is not crushed
between the drill pipe and the slips. Cable should seat in the groove of the slips.
String needs to be filled after latching and during logging to avoid possible unlatching.(only
topping off every 5 stands)
The logging speed will be communicated to the driller real time using intercom/walkie talkie.
After finishing the log, PWCH will be unlatched and cable will be removed.
Pull out speed is 1 min. per stand once wireline cable & CSES is removed from the drill string.
In the case where no 3.5in DP is used in the string, 1 joint of 3.5in IF DP with minimum ID > 2.4in
should be provided by client to be connected directly above SLB logging tools
Should there be a need for Wiper Trips, ensure ditch magnet is used in flow-line to clear metal
debris from hole (Debris in hole will prevent successful latching)
Mud should be filtered properly from other debris during wiper trip.
