Introduction
The purpose of this bulletin is to advise customers of the recent changes made to the gas
furnace draft inducer and flue transitions.

Discussion

The induced draft blower housing has been redesigned to allow the discontinuance of the
restrictor plates built into the flue transition formerly used in production.
See FURN-SVB08A-EN
In an effort to facilitate consolidation of different parts used on the assembly line and in the
field, the following changes were incorporated on or before 7/27/2003. You may remember the
flue transition pictured on the left as standard production for quite some time. This riveted
assembly was designed to allow the assembly process to add or subtract an orifice plate to the
transition. During the life of this assembly it was discovered that the plate may start to corrode
and replacement in the field was difficult

New Transition - ADP01118

The new transition will be used as a universal replacement part because of the following
reasons:
1) The orifice is incorporated into the housing (pictured below) away from cooler vent gases.
2) The new transition is field friendly due to its universality.
3) The old cast aluminum part of the transition has being discontinued.
4) Eliminated the four orifice plates and reduces the risk of incorrect parts assembled at the
factory.
Replacement transition part numbers listed below will be superseded to ADP01118 when
quantities run out.

Caution! If the previous vent transition has a restrictor plate, it cannot be used with a newer
draft inducer. The pressure switch will not close.
