PRAIRIE HIGH SCHOOL

March 9th March 20th

To Anna Matheny, Steph Klein, and Ryan Fritz for

their leadership and support of our Student Council.
The Student Council student leaders have been very
active this year in finding opportunities to celebrate
Our Kids. This Saturday they are hosting a dodge ball
tournament at the HS starting at 1 pm. Stop out if you
dare Thank you!!

District Commitments
Focus 1: We believe all children can learn at high levels
Focus 2: We believe educators matter

District Goals
5 Years: CCSD is committed to establishing a guaranteed and viable curriculum for all students
with a comprehensive, multi-tiered system of supports.
10 Years: CCSD is committed to providing all students with a competency-based education.

Building Improvement Goals for 2014-2015:

Through implementing research-based instructional strategies, we will
Goal 1: By the end of the year, 85% of all students final grades will be C or higher.
Goal 2: By the end of the year, our graduation rate will be at least 92%.

Please read through the district and building goals above.

are helping our kids attain these goals.

Consider how you

BE GREAT!!
Essential Standards charts should be completed before the unit takes place. These
will be used to guide our Dept PLC work.
Everyone should fill out the Enrichment form on our staff site,
http://prairiehsstaff.weebly.com/
Under RTI/MTSS click on ER Plans Form. This
needs to be completed by everyone by the end of the day Monday.
Focus on offering more extension opportunities for Our Kids that are already
proficient in their standards.
Comfy Clothes week this week! Warmer weather and an awesome week of learning before
Spring Break.
Mar 11th is our next new teacher meeting at 7:30 am. We will meet in Amy Sandaus
room.
Mar 11 is a Senior Class Assembly during HR in the Concert Hall.
Mar 16th 20th is Spring Break. Hope you get to hang out somewhere warm and comfy.
Mar 24th, 25th, 26th are IA Assessments. We will have a 2-hr late start each of these
days. The IA Assessments will be scheduled for the first 90 minutes followed by an ER
session for 30 min. We will not be having 0 hour those 3 days.
Mar 20th Mar 24th is the HS Music Trip to Florida. All students have been and will
be told again they need to be in school on the 25th. They can make up the Tuesday
test missed on Wed or Thur during ER if the time allows for them to finish. If the
time does not allow, then Steve Stumpff will determine make-up times for those
students.

LEARNERS CORNER

As we build a Culture of Greatness, our focus on learning and learning experiences

as opposed to a grade will continue to be important. On April 20, we will be
hosting a panel discussion of college admissions officers and Dr. Brad Buck
(director of the IA Dept of Ed). The discussion will focus on how a future state
goal of CBE connects with college admissions and ultimately students futures. The
public is open to attend the roundtable discussion in the Concert Hall.
Here is a
link to an article that asks some questions on this topic.
