The link above is for a website run by the government to help kids
to get apprenticeships. It has links to how to become one, a link to
find some, the types of apprenticeships that there are and lots more
such as that.

site has given some examples of some people that have chosen
apprenticeships instead of going to university. Giving potential
applicants an idea of what it is like.

He is an 18 year old ICT student at the Henley college, he wants to
go on to work at a computing company such as sky or Microsoft
after he finishes his education. He is currently applied for these
companys programs. He currently, as well as going to college,
works at his local Waitrose, he stacks shelves and helps
customers, and he does a lot of over time for the company. His
last results for his current course was 9 distinctions, levelling out
to Distinction star, Distinction star last year.

This website shows the myths of getting straight into employment
after finishing university. As well as providing facts and figures about
employment rates such as: last year, 193,890 graduates were
working six months after graduation and 124,700 of those were in
'professional-level' roles. The unemployment rate for graduates from
2012/13 was 7.3%. Most graduates get jobs, quickly, after
graduation.

This website talks about whether apprenticeship employees earn more money than
university graduates. This is important to the research because the main question that
we are asking is which is better, or whether it is dependent on the person that is
making their life plan. It includes facts and figures such as: The ONS data
showed that average pay for graduates between April and June last
year was actually higher than those in apprenticeships 15.18 an
hour and they were slightly more likely to be in work overall.
But Mr Field, who has previously carried out a Coalition review into
the causes of poverty, suggested that apprenticeships may be more
worthwhile for many school leavers after debts were factored in.
A report last year estimated that the average student will leave
university owing between 40,000 and 50,000 following an
increase in tuition fees.

qualifications worth the money, will it result in permanent
employment soon after the university course has finished.

The amount of money that it costs to go to university, are the
chances of employment as high as youd think, do universities ask
for too much.

Julia is a 17 year old student at the Henley college and she studies
a-levels. The a-levels that she studies are classics, ancient history,
and English literature. She is hoping to go to university after she
completes her college course, and her top choices for university are
Royal Holloway, Goldsmiths, Kent, Leeds, and Queen Marys. She
believes that her chances of employment after university are strong,
and she hopes to get a career straight out of university. She
believes that apprenticeships are great for opportunities, and are
the new way forward for people that dont want to get a degree. She
also believes that students are forced to pay too much money to go

to university and that it is a possible setback for their education.

Overall she thinks that furthering education in some way is
beneficial to students after college.

The increase of employment for teenagers, the benefits and the
down sides, are there any negative effects.
What sorts of things that kids have to do to try and get a job these

they leave education.

Areas of concern:
That it can have negative effects on kids.
That it is hard to get jobs when you are competing against skilled
adults who can do more hours.
The rising numbers or teenage un employment.

She is a B-Tec forensic student at the Henley college, she is
currently 17 years of age but on the 16th of February that shall
change. She currently has blue hair but is a natural brown. She
works at Chris caf in Studley green, she has also worked at the
connected garden centre as an elf during the Christmas period,
and she has also worked at a smaller caf and a pub.
