This map shows the average sum of three one-year flows of migration

in the US from 2005 to 2007. From state-to-state there were about


1,688,000 moves made within the United States during this time. The
greatest amount of migration was from the northeast to the south with
787,000 moves. The least amount of migration too place from the
northeast to the midwest where there were only 4,000 moves. This
shows the amount of people that are willing to move to certain places
possibly for better education, more job opportunities, ways of life, or
just the area itself. It also shows the amount of people that stay put
within this time in the US because the population was about
301,230,000 people so really less than 1% of the population moved
within the country.
