Why do people suffer and die?

"That is why, just as through one man sin

entered into the world and death through sin,
and thus death spread to all men because they
had all sinned-.

Romans 5:12.

How can Jesus suffering and death save us?

In ancient Israel, when people sinned they had to find an unblemished
animal, transfer their sins to it and kill it as a sacrifice to God. It is through
the shedding of blood, which is life, that sins are forgiven. God remains true
to this principle and provides the unblemished sacrifice for our sins in the
form of Jesus. Jesus suffered for the sins of the whole world - i.e. the sinful
nature of all of us who are living and still to come. Through His sacrifice we
are able to call upon Him and through Him we receive the strength to
withstand sin. He overcame sin and death on the cross. By calling on His
strength in prayer, we can overcome and live a life free from sin.

says "For just as in Adam all are dying, so also

in the Christ all will be made alive."
1 Corinthians 15:22
A direct result of the sin that we have inherited
from our first parents is death.
