On September 25th, the Cardinal juniors and seniors prepared to go to battle

in the first ever powder puff football game. With a tough first half for both
teams, the juniors prevailed, winning the game 19-6. Junior Seryna Alston led
the pack of only 14 girls, scoring three touchdowns and Kaitlyn Heginbotham
scoring one. "It was a unique experience to be a part of the first annual
powder puff game and being the first team to win," stated Heginbotham.
"Teamwork was the key," said Alston. "We were family by the time we
stepped on the field; it was fun."

Batter up! Fall baseball is in season. For senior Andrew Snider that
means stepping back into the batter's box. Were all really excited for
our field to finally be done and to represent our school on our own turf,
stated Snider.

Adam Booth, a professional story teller who travels across the country
teaching the art of storytelling, comes to Spring Mills High School to
share an unforgettable story called Billy and Ashton.

Students decorate the doors around the school to help kick off the
Olweus program. The winners of the designs were Mrs. Williams and Mr.
Barnes classes. Peyton Bean, a senior at SMHS, said, I think the
program should be practiced across the country because there is a lot of
unseen bullying that is affecting childrens lives.

To help kick off the Olweus program, each class created a bullying
prevention video. The seniors won the competition for their video titled
"In a World of Bullies."

'Tis the season for homecoming, pep ralleys, and arguably the best time of the school year. The pep rally brought
competition between the classes and an encouraging speech from head football coach Derek Munson. The
Cardinal seniors came out victorious in the battle of the classes but not before the debut of the dance team. The
crowd roared throughout the performance, welcoming the dance team to Cardinal sports.
