Logging In and Out of EKP


Purpose

To log in to and out of the EKP learning management system.

Logging in to
EKP

Follow the steps to log in to the EKP learning management system:

Access EKP either through a desktop icon or the WebConnect
portal.
The Home Page appears. All navigation starts on this page.
Follow other EKP User Guides to navigate the system.

To log out of the system, click on the word Logout on the left-hand side of
the screen.

Changing Your Password


Purpose

To describe the steps to change your EKP password.

Guidelines for
Creating a
Password

Below are guidelines to use when creating a password:


1. All passwords must be at least 6 character(s) long and may contain digits
and special characters.
2. After 15 unsuccessful attempt(s) to log on, your ID will be suspended.
Call the System Administrator for help.
Extension 5098 or 5096.
3. Passwords are case sensitive.

If you re-enter the password incorrectly, you get an error
message and asked to re-enter the password again.

Navigating the Knowledge Center


Purpose

To describe the steps to navigate the Knowledge Center after accessing a


learning module.

You can navigate the Knowledge Center by using the tabs. Each tab accesses
different information for the learning module.

Tabs may vary according to the learning module.


The Observed Assessment has references on the Reference Resources tab
you will need.

Description
This screen displays:
Name of the learning module

Supporting classroom material
Observed assessment form
Paper-based learning activity
On-line quiz, test, or exam assigned to the learning
module.
The on-line exam may be opened from this tab.
Example of on-line exam:
Initial Training final assessment
IBC does not currently use this tab.

Gives details of associates attendance for a
specific learning module.

Accessing a Learning Module in EKP


Purpose

To describe the steps to access a learning module in the EKP learning


management system.

After logging in to EKP, follow these steps to access a learning module from
the Home Page:

Clicking on the program name will open the program with all
assigned learning modules.

If you do not see any learning modules, click on Refresh. If
still blank, you currently have no enrolled learning modules.

Printing a Certificate
Purpose

What You Need

Opening the

To describe the steps to print a certificate upon completion of a learning


module.

On the Certifications page, you will see the names of your current
certifications. To the right you will see the word Print. Click on
it. The system will open a link to the certificate. A new screen
appears.

In the first paragraph of this screen, the directions tell you that the
certificate may be printed by clicking here. Click on the word
"here (either place).
HINT: The font on this screen is small so you will need to look
closely.

Printing the

Adobe Reader opens and the certificate appears. To print the certificate,
follow these steps:

Click on the printer icon from the Adobe Reader toolbar.

From the print screen, choose the printerand the number of copies
you would like to print.

Close the screens until you return to the Career Development
screen.
You may continue in EKP or log out of the system.

Instructions for Certification Renewal


Purpose

To assist associates in preparing for certification or re-certification by taking


the 6-Month/Annual Observed Assessment and/or On-Line Written Exam.

Reviewing
Process TD004

IMPORTANT! Review Process TD004 Certification of Associates and its


procedures to complete the certification process.

Receiving
Email
Notification

An email notification will be sent forty-five days prior to expiration of a


certification. To be re-certified, you must complete the applicable Observed
Assessment and/or On-Line Written Exam.

Associate
Responsibilities

It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that the Observed Assessment and/or OnLine Written Exam are completed in a timely manner.
The expiration date is on the email notification. It may also be found on
the Career Development page/Certifications tab.
If you do not renew the certification by the expiration date, you will not
be allowed to perform your job duties!

Once all Observed Assessments and/or On-Line Exams have been completed,
certification will be awarded.

If the Observed Assessment form is lost, log in to EKP. Print the form from

To describe the steps to print the Observed Assessment Form for certification.

After clicking on the learning module from the Enrolled Learning Modules
tab, follow these steps when the Knowledge Center opens:

written exam.

Written Exam to open and take the exam.

Follow Process TD004 Certification of Associates to complete the observed


assessment.

Re-Training

If formal retraining is indicated, the Observer will notify the Department


Head/Designee or Training & Development to request formal re-training.
Department Head/Designee and Associate understand the associate is not
allowed to perform job tasks until deemed competent.

Action
The instruction page opens.
This page tells you how many sections and number of questions
the exam contains. It will also tell you if there is a time limit or
if incomplete exams can be re-started.

After reading the instructions, click on the Start the Exam button.
The exam will open.
Mark your answer and click on the Submit Response button.
Tips
Make sure the radio button accepts your answer before
clicking Submit Response. It can be touchy.
When selecting an answer for a question with a drop down
list (e.g., matching or true/false), do not use the mouse scroll
button before clicking somewhere else on screen.
If you scroll while the answer is highlighted, the answer
you selected could be changed and cause you to miss a
question!

The question with your response and the correct response will
appear.
Some exams may review all questions/answers at end.

The exam is automatically scored and recorded. If you failed the
first attempt, you may re-take the exam immediately.
After three failed attempts, your manager will be notified for
further action.
The Exam Review will display. This will let you review the exam
questions with the correct answers and your answers.

Opening a Just-In-Time (JIT) Learning Module


Definition

A Just-In-Time (JIT) learning module contains information that is available


for the associate review.
Typically, this information was trained as an In-Service and is now
available for review purposes only.
Example: Pall WB Bags and Amber Droplets
Remember to complete the CCF learning module first! Otherwise, you
will not receive credit for the training.

After logging in to EKP, follow these steps to open the catalog:

Definition

A Self Study learning module contains learning modules that are available for
associate review. Some examples of self study are:
AABB Audioconference series
Professional development topics
Items in TDs lending library
Technology topics, including social media

After logging in to EKP, follow these steps to open the catalog:

Action
Click on Start Training to open the learning module.

After viewing complete learning module, click on Mark as


Completed to close the module window.

If you do not access the module or complete the module within 30 days you
will start to receive emails requesting you to log in and complete the
module. If you will not complete the module, open the learning module and
click on the Withdraw button, or call TD to have them withdraw you.
Other learning modules (i.e., Just-in-time) may not require you to enroll
before starting training.
Check the tab Reference Resources for other materials, such as a handout.

Purpose

To report continuing education hours for re-certification of external licensing


or certification renewal (typically annually).

Follow these steps to print the Records/Transcript Report:

Scroll to the bottom of the training records and click on the Print
Records/Transcript Report. A new page appears.

screen.
