This presentation will be discussing my Career

Development Plan.
How I used the CASVE (ka SAHve) Cycle for the
foundation of the Plan (Reardon, Lenz, Sampson Jr,
& Peterson, 2009).

We will be breaking down each section of the

CASVE Cycle and how I used it in my plan.

What was the gap in my situation at that time and what was the situation
that I wanted to be in (Reardon, Lenz, Sampson Jr, & Peterson, 2009)?
My gap was that I had lost my job in the automotive industry and had a
family to support.

I wanted to go college to make sure that I had an education to fall

back on so that I was never in this position again.
I wanted to be in a higher level leadership role.

What have you learned about the world of work that has
influenced my decisions (Reardon, Lenz, Sampson Jr, & Peterson,
2009)?
Leaders in the organization that I have work for in have advanced
degrees, and most have worked in Human Resources.
I should try to get a position in Human Resources within the
company that I currently work for, if I want to move into a
leadership position.

What is the plan for occupational alternatives for myself (Reardon,

Lenz, Sampson Jr, & Peterson, 2009)?

First, get additional certification in Six Sigma or as a Database

Administrator.
Change industries. I will look outside the automotive industry if I do
not get the results that I wanted from within it.

What are the important factors in making this decision (Reardon, Lenz,
Sampson Jr, & Peterson, 2009)?
The first factor is my family and our plans.
How to pay for the certification.
If I do change industries, which certifications will I need?

What would I need to implement my first choice

(Reardon, Lenz, Sampson Jr, & Peterson, 2009)?
Decide if I should stay with my current company or change
organizations.
Decide which certification to pursue.
Set a timeline for completion.

Synthesis

Where do I want to be in a year (Reardon, Lenz, Sampson Jr, &

Peterson, 2009)?

Have my certification.
Either have a new position with my current organization, or move
to a different organization.
Have a leadership role, so that I can get experience before I
graduate in May of 2016.

I think that based on my past experience that I have a realistic

Career Development Plan.

I may have to make minor adjustments to the plan if my future

goals change.
I believe that I will be able to complete my one year plan within
the timeline that I have laid out.
