Action (15 minutes)

- Stick Skills
Neutral Position
- Grip: Hands should be separated on the stick, the bottom hand will be close to the butt

(loose), and the upper hand should be above the midpoint on the shaft (firm). Stick
should be held from hip of bottom hand to just in front of shoulder of top hand.
Cradling
- Stick should be carried in the neutral position, gentle rolling on the upper wrist will
allow for movement. The movement should act thought the wrist and elbow and act as a
90 degree angle door. The arm should remain close to the body.
Catching
- With the stick held in the neutral position follow the path of the ball with your eyes and
watch it as it enters the stick. Soften the impact by cushioning the pass with the stick.
Passing
- Keeping the bottom hands elbow facing the target extend the arms back. Rotate the
hips and shoulders while stepping forward with the dominant foot, bringing the stick
past the ear. Release the ball and follow through in the direction of the target
Scooping
- Position the instep foot beside the ball (Left for lefties/right for righties) bend the knees
and lean forward, keeping head down and eyes on the ball. Bring the stick towards the
surface and Scoop quickly through the ball. Return to neutral position.

- Shuttle (2 shuttles, 4 lines, 5 students/line)

Passing using dominant hand
Ground balls

Players line up on opposite sides of teacher facing away from field
Teacher tosses ball, says 2 or more numbers
Players races to scoop ball
Team that picks up ball first tries to complete 5 passes w/o interception
Team that does not get to the ball plays defence
After 5 successful passes team can drop ball into the bucket
- three step lacrosse if indoors
teams of 5
shifts of 3 minutes
object of game is to score points by placing the ball into the buckets
players line up man on man
teacher tosses ball into the court
team that picks up ball first has possession
athletes attempt to pass ball down the court
each athlete can only take three steps and each player must touch the ball before
depositing ball in bucket
if the ball drops to the ground or a player takes more than three steps, or there is an
interception of the pass the other team gains possession
