CSR refers to a company's responsibility towards society. While some see CSR as voluntary, the document argues it should be compulsory to uplift deprived communities, prioritize employee training, meet consumer expectations, disclose CSR activities, and pool resources at scale. Examples of CSR initiatives in Nepal include UNHCR and school support by NIBL Bank, environment campaigns by Bottlers Nepal, and digital library and school programs by NCELL. The document concludes that since individuals benefit freely from natural resources, forcing CSR contributions through policy may be needed to adequately "give back" to society and the planet.
