Educational Technology Issue

The issue that I decided to discuss was The role of distance education. The role of
distance education Virtual schools are springing up around the country. Parents wonder: (a)
Can all students succeed in online environments? and (b) Will students learn as much as in faceto-face classrooms?
The reason why I chose this topic because many people feel that technology is taking
away from teaching. Technology is only improving and continuing education. Without
technology I dont education would have come this far. The importance of this issue is that we
are offer education anywhere. This gives everyone a chance to get an education. Just like out
class we have online now. This is helpful for students who doesnt have time to sit inside a
classroom setting or people just cant set in a classroom. I understand where parents may have a
concern about the virtual class. There are some times you can get distracted and get lazy. Then
you dont have a chance to see your teacher. There are some people who may not succeed online
but its not for everyone. I dont feel any different from getting my education online and not in a
classroom. It definitely up to the person. You have to be focused, motivated, and determine.
There are many lawyers, teachers, and doctors who have successfully taking a class only or
maybe received a degree.
Now on some cases there are people who do better online rather than in a traditional
classroom setting. I do believe that intrinsic motivation and desire to learn are factors that would
help someone. Many people feel when they dont have to do face to face with an educator just to
learn. Once you get and have your motivation there is now stop with learning. Online seem to
work better than a traditional classroom for some people.

There have been so much technology created to help improve education. I do believe virtual
schools would be one of those technology. There are many people who are able to get their high
school diploma online and GED online.
