Mini Project CPB 30303

Title:
Select one type of processing available in edible oil industry such as
Palm Oil Mill, RBD, Hydrogenation, Dry Fractionation, Polyol, and etc.
Study the processing concept and implementation. Determine the
plant efficiency and proposed energy saving and optimization of the
process.

The content of report are as below:

Actual mass balance and energy balance

Actual energy consumption and percentage of product produce
State if there any drawbacks and explanation of the condition
Proposed the energy saving concept without intolerance with the quality, safety and
yield percentage
Any related picture, diagram or PFD is essential
Revised mass and energy balance diagram and details

Tips:
1. It will be better if those processes are real process that available in Malaysia. You may
contact any industry to obtain information from them.
2. Use of your previous knowledge in chemical engineering to help your understanding
about the process and parameters

All analysis should be supported figures. You can contact product manufacturer to get better
understanding

Submission date will be on week 13th of lecture Friday before 5.00 pm

Maximum no of pages is 40 and minimum is 30
Group project(5-6) people
Format report: Times News Roman font 12; spacing 1.5 and border will following FYP guideline
