For this problem, there are 36 items being bought by the football team. They are buying 12 school
school sweatshirts ($32), 12 sweatpants ($14), and 12 school t-shirts ($11). I multiplied the prices of the items
by 12. This would give me the total price. The sweatshirts equaled $384. The sweatpants equaled $168, and
the t-shirts equaled $132. I then added the prices together for a total price of $684. Then I divided the total
by the 37 people splitting the price. $684 divided by 37 rounds to $18.49. Each person will pay $18.49.

Each member pays $47.63. To solve this, I first had to find out how much each item would cost if you
bought 14. Portfolios were $344.26, binders were $180.88, sweatshirts were $448, music cases were $17.50,
phone cases were $27.86, and mousepads were $29.96. These were the prices of the items when multiplied
by 14. This was $1048.46. Tax was included. Tax is 6% at the student store. To find the tax I multiplied .06 by
$1048.46 to find 6% of $1048.46. This equaled $62.91. I added the tax to the total to find the Supreme
Total. $1048.46 + $62.91 = 1,111.37. I found 60% of the total to find how much the school members will pay.
The reason its 60% is because the club will pay 40%. The rest is for the members to pay. 60% of $1,111.37 is
$666.82. The last step was to divide $666.82 by 14. The reason you do this is because there are 14 members
splitting 60% of the Supreme Total. $666.82 divided by 14 is $47.63.
