TEACHING & LEARNING

EXPERIENCES
(include learner diversity)

Objective 1 will be completed

during small group work, as a
group students will
brainstorm on a large sheet
of paper ways the different
textures of their given object.
The object will be in a bag so
students can only use sense
of touch)
Objective two will be
assessed after the lesson
has occurred, the objects
made using the 3D printer
will be assed as well as their
design to ensure there is 3
different textures present,
students who have not
completed this will be asked
to talk through the textures of
their design with the teacher.
Objective three will be written
on anecdotal notes, all
students are encouraged to

Whats in the bag?

Mat session for introduction

At the front of the class is a large bag filled with large

rocks

Children are to come up and feel what is in the bag

without looking and describe it

Students will then guess what is in the bag

Explain to students that they have used their sense of

touch
Small groups with different objects

Students will split into small groups that are made from
their tables.

Each group has a small bag with a different object it the

bag

Students brainstorm the verbs that can be used to

describe their object on a large sheet of butcher paper,
these brainstorms are shared with the class
Design using cubify and sense scanner

Each student will have access to the program cubify and

will take it in turn to use the sense scanner, students have
prior knowledge of both of these ICT components

On their designs students will describe each texture used

Print & share with class

Students will print their work using the 3D scanner

and share in small groups during the next lesson
Students who are not as confident with ICT can partner up
