    Active and Passive Voice

    Notice that when we reverse the position of the subject and the direct object, we can
    change the sentence from the passive form to the active form. In all of your writing,
    you want to use the active voice. Change the following sentences into active voice.
    Example: The ball was hit by the boy transforms into The boy hit the ball
    Note: How did we change this sentence? Why does it sound better?
    Re-write the following sentences in ACTIVE Voice:
    1. The car was wrecked by the train.

    2. The grass was cut by Jim.

    3. The desks were cleaned by the students.

    4. The coats were taken by the boys.

    5. The students are told about the Presidents death by their teacher.

    6. The mother was hurt by the daughters actions.

    7. The students were excited for the long weekend.

    8. Honors classes were offered y the high school.

    9. The narrator was humiliated by the womans harsh words.

    10. Santiago was challenged by four obstacles.
