Assignment 1:

Information Literacy
2 Transitioning from paper to electronic health records with inadequate security
system leaves patients information unguarded. Pam Dixon, a researcher of medical
data breaches for the World Privacy Forum stated "digitized health records are jet
fuel for medical identity theft." Patients medical records contain highly sensitive
information which can be sold for a profit. Federal law does require providers to
protect patient information, and will take corrective action against medical providers
with weak security.
3 keywords - electronic medical records, electronic health records, security, cyber
security, news
I used yahoo, and bing for my search engines. Both search engines eventually got
me to what I was looking for. I did prefer bing over yahoo the layout was easier to
navigate. Bing bolds the words from my search in the results which helped me
narrow my search. It was more difficult using yahoo to find an article I wanted to
use. On yahoo the search engine displays ads at the beginning and end of the
search, and hard to differentiate between the results and ads.

hospital security. She has statistics from Symantec which is a security
business.
5. The article was written to inform the reader about health care fraud. I do not
believe the article has any bias.
